After Kim's surgery, my sister was hooked up to a machine that delivered morphine into her veins whenever she pushed a button. This is so that a doctor doesn't have to come in every time the patient starts to feel pain to deliver the medication. These machines are supposed to have a cut off point so that the patient can't give themselves a lethal dose. Unfortunately, this was not the case with my sister. To make matters worse, while Kim was asleep, my mother, out of kindness, periodically pressed the button so that when she awoke she wouldn't be in pain. Kim overdosed and had to be brought back with the defibrillator.
lyrics
Leave it to a Doctor to make miscalculations. They set her her dosage to high. An IV of morphine hooked to a button. “Press it when you come down from that high and you won't overdose” Leave it to a mother to kill her kid with kindness. She pushed Kim's button all night. She wanted her daughter to remain painless. That's way Kim couldn't be revived. But they said you won't overdose.
